Introducing: Selin Dincer Cinar

Can you briefly explain your background?

I had my Bachelor of Art degree from architecture and had my masters degree in business administration. I started my career as corporate sales member in construction sector. Throughout my career, I had a chance to have different roles in sales and marketing from account management to product and trade marketing activities. My experience in different sectors like construction, service, retail and FMCG provide me strong communication and negotiation skills with a proven record of success in stakeholder management and relationship management.

Describe your role at BV?

I am working as Marketing and Communications Manager for Middle East region covering 20 countries. My main responsibilities include to protect and enhance the value of BV brand in the region. I implement regional marketing strategy in line with corporate strategy and provide direction to and coordinate sales and marketing teams in each business line according to our strategy. I develop and maintain external communication platforms as well as internal communication platforms and manage relationships with external stakeholders. Event management, website and social media management are my other responsibilities.

Elaborate an experience in BV that you feel empowered.

Having a regional role gives me the opportunity to engage with different stakeholders in my company and to experience different cultures, background and work style. The richness of interaction with different team members and their trust to achieve projects together make me feel empowered. In addition, I like to take new responsibilities and challenge myself in my career and my management is always supportive to give me responsibilities and ownership of projects with full trust.

What do you want to advice to other women?

Be focused on what you are doing rather than considering what other people are thinking. Your achievements will bring you the opportunities and success in your career.  Don’t be conservative to share your success and accomplishments in every aspect of your life. We are strong and capable of achieving what we imagine.
