UPSTREAM OIL & GAS
REDUCING THE RISKS OF DRILLING
Drilling is a critical activity in the oil & gas industry but can come with risks and hazards. Reducing these, through proper inspections, is key to the success of any drilling operation. This includes inspection of rigs (onshore and offshore) and equipment (static and rotating).
WE ENSURE THE INTEGRITY OF YOUR DRILLING OPERATIONS
In order to mitigate the risk of failure while operating, we recommend and execute an optimal quality assurance plan for your drilling operations. This includes downhole equipment such as a drill string, landing string, or casing and tubing, or surface equipment, like BOPs, a rig’s structure, or mud pumps. .
For downhole equipment, TH Hill, a Bureau Veritas Company and the owners of DS1 Code, will define the necessary inspection plan and third-party monitoring requirements. This is based on the criticality of your operation, in order to best balance your investment in quality assurance with the chance of failure. TH Hill also works directly with your vendors to ensure timely delivery of qualified equipment to a rig. Paying attention to the quality of critical tools helps you avoid costly, non-productive time as you drill your next well.
We also perform technical rig audits (Hyperlink), where drilling or workover rigs are subjected to an extensive and detailed audit. This includes the operability of various equipment, tools and systems available on a rig, including BOPs, top drives, mud pits and augers, mud pumps, derricks, and other safety systems.
