This event promotes gender equality in the UAE region, together with local and international companies.

Bureau Veritas is organizing an award ceremony on March 15 at the France Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai under the patronage of the French Embassy, Arborus (founder of GEEIS label) and CCI France UAE. The event will recognize commitments to Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace.

In the presence of French Ambassador Xavier Chatel, Bureau Veritas, Arborus and CCI France UAE will celebrate local and international companies’ GEEIS achievements in the region. A panel discussion sharing best company practices will take place.

Bureau Veritas congratulates Expo 2020 Dubai, the Dubai Police, DP World, Camfil, Keolis MHI, Legrand, L’Oréal and Sodexo for earning the Gender Equality European & International Standard (GEEIS) label in the UAE. Expo 2020 Dubai is the first to achieve the GEEIS-Event label and will be a key example for future events all over the world.

Marcel Hochar, Bureau Veritas Senior Vice President, Middle East and Central Asia, said‘‘As a Business to Business to Society company, we are committed to tackling the world’s most pressing challenges from all sectors of the economy. Within the company, through our CSR strategy ‘Shaping a Better World,’ we act in order to be a role model for the industry in terms of positive impact on people and the planet, including gender equality and diversity. As an independent and expert third party, we are committed to supporting our clients to be more efficient, more methodical and more trustworthy in their journey toward more sustainable business and a more sustainable world.’’

Cristina Lunghi, Founder of Arborus, commented‘‘I am so proud and delighted to award the GEEIS trophies during this event. It is changing the vision for equality in the Emirates, with the GEEIS certification of the Dubai Police, Camfil, Sodexo, Legrand, L’Oréal and Keolis MHI, and with the certification of eight international ports, GEEIS is becoming a real marker of professional diversity in traditionally male professions. Finally, with the GEEIS-Event certification, awarded for the first time to Expo 2020 Dubai, GEEIS is becoming a marker of values promoted by major events.’’

The GEEIS is a labeling process for equality, diversity and inclusion, and a worldwide standard for equal opportunities. The GEEIS label was launched in Brussels on April 8, 2010, at the European Economic and Social Committee by the Arborus Endowment Fund. Its aim is to promote equality between women and men, and to support companies wishing to structure and manage their professional equality and diversity policies, both locally and internationally. The framework for the GEEIS label has been designed for all types of companies, regardless of size, configuration or activity, in all countries and on all continents.
